The source for the mitzvah of bentching is linked with Eretz Yisrael, both within the verse itself, as well as the context of which the mitzvah is mentioned. So why do we bentch outside of Eretz Yisrael? Perhaps we learn a lesson about life each time we bentch, from the Torah's warning that comes after these psukim.
